Optical sensing refers to technologies that use light to detect, measure, or monitor physical, chemical, or biological parameters. Instead of relying on electrical contacts, optical sensors analyse how light changes — including intensity, wavelength, phase, polarization, or time-based effects such as Time of Flight (ToF).

These variations are converted into electrical signals to provide precise and reliable measurements.
